"Do It Herself" Comes Back in October

It all began simply enough.

In the winter of 2002, an article in The Oklahoman featured financial statistics for women and the disparity between males and females when it came to saving and investing.

Thinking there had to be something the OSCPA could do, staff and leadership began planning the first “Do It Herself: A Journey to Financial Freedom.” The conference continued annually, often in Oklahoma City and in Tulsa, for eight years.

After a one-year hiatus, the OSCPA’s financial conference—which targets women, but also welcomes men—will return for a ninth time on October 25 at the OSU-Tulsa campus at 700 N. Greenwood Ave. in Tulsa, Okla.

Hosted by the OSCPA Tulsa Chapter, the conference offers a full day of financial topics selected for women and taught by women.

Sponsors, exhibitors and door prize donations are welcome. The all-day event (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) will cost $20 and will include materials and lunch, three general sessions and six breakout sessions for all levels of financial know-how.
