Hello, 2020: A recap of the OSCPA's 2019 events

Check out all the exciting things that took place during 2019 at the OSCPA. We are thankful for all of our members that made this year a success; we look forward to another great year!

Quality Education

The OSCPA offered a total of 1,276 hours of live CPE in 2019 at locations in Oklahoma City and Tulsa metros. That includes conferences and seminars as well as unique opportunities like Lunch + Learns, Beer & Ethics and the OSCPA's new Summit Series.



101st Annual Members Meeting

Nearly 400 attendees joined us in Broken Arrow for this year's Annual Members Meeting celebrating member achievements, awards and successes while also looking toward the future of the profession and the OSCPA.


CPA Day of Service

The statewide volunteer event brought in 170 volunteers – including 15 firm, company and student groups – who impacted 12 organizations across 11 cities and towns.

CPA Day at the Capitol 

38 OSCPA members and staff joined together at the State Capitol to hear about issues affecting the profession and to shake hands and share their thoughts with Oklahoma's legislators. Save the date for the 2020 CPA Day at the Capitol – March 11!

Professional Issues Update

Blaine Peterson, CPA, JD, OSCPA president and CEO, made his way to five cities across the state to address current trends in accounting, state and national developments and much more. The OSCPA partnered with its chapters this year to provide networking and education at the local level.


Board of Directors Retreat

The 2019 board retreat took the society's leadership to Colorado Springs, where board members delved into the society's 2030 strategic plan. Almost 50 members and their guests also enjoyed touring the Olympic Training Center, a networking reception and group dinners.


Student Meetups 

In 2019, the OSCPA hosted four student meetups across the state, where nearly 100 college students were able to network and ask questions about what it takes to become a CPA. 


Mix & Mingles

The OSCPA hosted eight member Mix & Mingles at a variety of Oklahoma City and Tulsa-area hot spots, providing networking opportunities for more than 60 members.
