Last week, a record-breaking 229 volunteers and donors participated in the OSCPA's 8th annual CPA Day of Service. Many of these volunteers came in groups organized by nearly 20 Oklahoma firms and organizations.
To increase our members' impact, this year's event extended an entire week, creating opportunities to serve everyday.
The Day of Service volunteers visited nonprofit organizations across Oklahoma, including: Abba’s Tables, Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, Duncan Area Literacy Council, Emergency Infant Services, Lions Meadows of Hope, OKC Beautiful, Okeene Historic Preservation Group, the Salvation Army and Upward Transitions.
The service opportunities ranged from packing and organizing food to be deliviered to Oklahoma families and organizing donations of clothing and diapers for families with new babies, to picking up trash in Oklahoma parks and serving meals to the hungry.
Our members also raised $1,275 for Make-A-Wish Oklahoma to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
The OSCPA's CPA Day of Service is proof of the passion and care Oklahoma CPAs have for their communitiy.
Thank you to our event sponsor, Gray, Blodgett & Company, PLLC.
