J. Michael Reese, JD, LLM serves as the Director - Risk Management, Professional Liabillity at The Hanover Insurance Group. Prior to joining Hanover, he spent over 15 years in tax departments and National Tax Offices representing Big 4, large regional, and local accounting firms. In addition to client compliance and consulting, he spent time as Assistant In-House Counsel where his primary responsibilities included coordinating Risk Management/Quality Control procedures, drafting and editing firm policy manuals and guidelines, and leading annual internal inspections. He is a licensed attorney in Indiana and Illinois, and served as a public litigator for three years prior to obtaining his LL.M in Taxation from the University of Washington.

His trial practice has been concentrated in the defense of professional liability matters for hospitals, physicians, nurses, accountants, architects, engineers, real estate agents as well as products liability, insurance and aviation. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, Tulsa County Bar Association, Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel (Past President), International Association of Defense Counsel, American Board of Trial Advocates (Charter Member and Past President of the Oklahoma Chapter) and The American Inns of Court. He is admitted to practice in all Federal Districts within the State of Oklahoma, the Tenth Circuit Federal Court and The United States Supreme Court.
