OSCPA CPA Day of Service

On October 27, 150 OSCPA members rallied together to give back to their communities as part of the OSCPA's 10th annual CPA Day of Service.

The group of volunteers included 10 firm groups, two university groups, plus many individual volunteers and OSCPA staff.

Volunteers had the opportunity to choose their own organizations or volunteer at one of the organizations arranged by the OSCPA—Moore's Regional Food & Resource Center, Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, and OKC Beautiful.

Moore's Regional Food & Resource Center

DOS Food BankThe Regional Food Bank's Food & Resource Center in Moore is more than a food pantry.

This location provides its neighbors with the ability to come and shop for their groceries just as you would any other grocery store to help provide a little normalcy.

Thirty-five of our volunteers were able to interact and help the neighbors shop for their needs as well as aid the resource center in sorting produce for the weeks to come.

OKC Beautiful

LitterblitzAlmost 50 OSCPA members joined OKC Beautiful at Dolese Youth Park to participate in a Litter Blitz to help clean up the park.

OKC Beautiful has more than 50 years of leading Oklahoma City's beautification and environmental stewardship through collaboration, education, and advocacy.

Volunteers were able to collect more than 15 trash bags of litter to leave the park a much cleaner place for everyone to enjoy.

Other Organizations

Cameron Uni. DOSNot all our members live in the Oklahoma City metro, so many of our volunteers opted to participate in their own communities across the state.

More than 50 members arranged their own volunteer engagements.

One of our groups included Cameron University accounting students who chose to volunteer with Rainbow Bridge Can Wait Animal Shelter and Rescue in Lawton, Okla. (pictured above).

The OSCPA's CPA Day of Service is scheduled each year in October. If you are planning your firm or company's give-back day, don't forget to reach out to the OSCPA next year to join in our efforts to help Oklahoma CPAs impact our local communities.
