Celebrating Excellence at the Annual Members Meeting

A day packed with CPE, leadership updates, and member recognition brought CPAs from across Oklahoma together for the OSCPA's 108th Annual Members Meeting on June 12 at the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel. 

The celebration began the evening before with a Mix & Mingle at Social Capital, where members had the opportunity to connect and catch up before the big event the next day. 

Members then spent the next day learning from industry experts, reconnecting with colleagues, and celebrating the professionals who continue to make an impact on the accounting profession and their communities. The event also marked the beginning of a new leadership year for the society as we welcomed a new Board of Directors.

What We Learned

This year's Annual Members Meeting provided a series of informative and engaging CPE sessions from educators and experts, including AICPA Chair Jan Lewis, CPA. Attendees expanded their knowledge on various topics relevant to the accounting profession:

• Navigating the World of NIL and Leadership for Today from Oklahoma State University's Coach Barry Hinson
• Better AI Prompts, Better Results from Thomas Stephens, CPA, with K2 Enterprises     
• How I Got Caught: A Deep Dive Into an $800K Fraud, and the story of a lifetime from Craig Stanland

During the Annual Members Meeting, members recognized the service of Outgoing Chair Josh Elder, CPA, and welcomed Chair Mark Neumeister, CPA. 

The leadership transition marks the start of a new year for the organization and its Board of Directors as they continue working to support members and advance the profession throughout Oklahoma.

A Hall of Fame Honor

One of the afternoon's highlights was the induction of Janese Shepard, CPA, into the OSCPA's Accounting Hall of Fame.

The award recognizes individuals whose professional accomplishments, leadership, and service have left a lasting mark on the accounting profession in our state.
