What He Has to Say
OSCPA: What has been your greatest achievement in your community or professional career so far?
Singhal: My most significant professional achievement is earning my CPA license. I’m proud of passing all four parts of the CPA exam on my first attempt while starting a full-time job at a Big 4 firm. I also take great pride in my involvement with the United Way of Central Oklahoma (UWCO). My journey with UWCO began as a community investment volunteer and has evolved into a role on the Emerging Leaders Steering Committee, in which I’m a part of the broader decisions that have a lasting impact on our community.
OSCPA: Who has been your greatest inspiration in your life, and why?
Singhal: While I’ve drawn inspiration from countless individuals throughout my life, my sister remains an unwavering pillar of support for me. The thought of pursuing a career in accounting initially seemed a bit daunting due to my unfamiliarity with the field. However, my sister encouraged me to follow my ambitions. Moreover, the commitment she has shown in achieving her own goals has been truly inspirational. Her perseverance has instilled in me the strength to remain steadfast in my pursuits.
OSCPA: What motivated you to get involved with the OSCPA?
Singhal: I initially joined the OSCPA to expand my professional network and meet like-minded individuals within my local community. Through my active involvement in various OSCPA committees, I’ve had several opportunities not only to connect with fellow CPAs but also to inspire the younger generation to consider a career in accounting. I’ve also gotten a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes efforts by everyone at OSCPA, and I’m deeply appreciative of their work, which allows us to engage in outreach and advocate for our profession.
OSCPA: What do you hope to accomplish in your career?
Singhal: I hope to maintain a curious mindset and continue my journey of professional growth and development. I’m a firm believer of Peter Drucker’s famous adage, “learning is a lifelong process.” The accounting profession, like many others, has witnessed significant transformations with the rise of AI and other emerging technologies in recent years. As these technologies continue to evolve rapidly, I aspire to refine my technical skills and ethically leverage them in discovering innovative solutions, ultimately delivering efficient service tailored to my clients’ needs.
