OSCPA Member Moment

Dr. Angela Spencer, CPA, has taught at the Spears School of Business since 2006, including serving the last year as the interim head of the School of Accounting at Oklahoma State University.

Recently, Angela had the interim tag removed by Dean Jim Payne and the Oklahoma A&M Board of Regents.

Join us in honoring Sylvia Duncan, CPA, the first woman to lead the OSCPA as President from 1987-1988. Sylvia's legacy of leadership and dedication will forever inspire us. Her impact on our community, recognized through the Oklahoma Accounting Hall of Fame and the Public Service Award, will always be remembered. Rest in peace, Sylvia.

Firm in the News

HoganTaylor LLP, one of the largest business advisory and public accounting firms in Oklahoma and Arkansas, was recently ranked No. 81 on the Top 100 CPA firms in the United States, according to Accounting Today.

The publication’s annual ranking is comprised of the largest practices, both nationally and in 10 major geographic regions. HoganTaylor was also listed as the third largest firm in the Southwest, a region that includes Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico.

OSCPA Lunch + Learn: Understanding the Legislative Processes

 

More than 200 members joined the OSCPA for this month's Lunch + Learn, which was offered in-person and virtually.

This month, Christy Watson, Communications & Marketing Director for the Oklahoma State Boards Association, discussed the importance of advocacy as an association, the steps of the Oklahoma legislative process, and how to make the most of your advocacy efforts.

OSCPA Lunch + Learns are offered each month, FREE for members. Lunch is provided for in-person attendees, and those who attend can receive one hour of recommended CPE credit.

OSCPA Mix & Mingle - The Study 

OSCPA members at The Study for March's Mix & Mingle

The OSCPA headed to The Study in Oklahoma City for this month's Mix & Mingle, where OSCPA members gathered to unwind and enjoy each other's company. 

Attendees from various sectors of the accounting profession connected over shared experiences and forged new connections that will undoubtedly strengthen our community. The vibrant atmosphere was a testament to the spirit of collaboration and support that defines the OSCPA. As members exchanged stories, insights, and business cards, the event exemplified the power of building relationships within our industry.
