Kyle Dean, Director, Oklahoma City University Meinders School of Business

Kyle Dean

Dr. Kyle Dean is an experienced professional economist who provides economic analysis to government, business, and non-profit leaders throughout the region. Dr. Dean began consulting in 2005 and his client list includes some of Oklahoma’s most influential businesses and trade associations, including the Oklahoma Independent Producers Association (OIPA), the Oklahoma Bankers’ Association (OBA), the Oklahoma Telephone Association (OTA) and many others. He is best known for his comprehensive work with Oklahoma tribes, having completed the first ever estimate of the combined economic impacts from Oklahoma tribal activities.

Recommended for 1 hour of Specialized Knowledge CPE - Dr. Kyle Dean, Director, Center for Native American & Urban Studies at Oklahoma City University will provide an update on the Oklahoma economy.

Objectives:

  • Discuss current Oklahoma economy.
  • Learn about future issues affecting the economics of Oklahoma.

Beth Adele, Oklahoma City University

Beth Adele

Beth Adele, Ph.D., joined Oklahoma City University (OCU) as its Chair and Assistant Professor of the Mass Communications Department in the fall of 2019. Since then, she has added the title Director of the Nonprofit Leadership graduate program. Prior to serving OCU, she was the Director of Marketing at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma where she managed paid, unpaid, digital, and sales communications. Preceding her roles at OCU and Lyric Theatre, Adele was the Acting Chairperson and Assistant to the Dean at Cameron University’s School of Business in Lawton, OK. Before her positions in Lawton, she served as the Director of Career Services and Instructor of Marketing at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in Edmond, OK. She was also instrumental in the creation of the Veteran Higher Education Resources Office (VetHERO) at UCO.

Adele earned her Ph.D. in Human Resource Development at The University of Texas at Tyler and is an alumna of UCO with her Bachelor of Music and Master of Business Administration degrees. She completed the Nonprofit Management Certification from the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits as well as the Instructional Design Certification from the Association for Talent Development (ATD).

Raychel Clark, Accounting Manager, W & W - AFCO Steel LLC

Raychel Clark

Raychel Clark, CPA, is an accounting manager with W&W|AFCO Steel, which fabricates and erects steel structures internationally. She began her accounting career at a local non-profit, later moving on to jobs in the construction industry and public accounting as an auditor. She earned a Master of Science in Accounting from Oklahoma City University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Oklahoma. Raychel is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). At the OSCPA, she has been involved in a number of projects: the Strategic Planning Pipeline Task Force; the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee as a committee chair; and the Accounting Careers, Financial Literacy, and Young Accounting Professionals committees as a committee member. In 2018, she was recognized with a Trailblazer award from the OSCPA. Her favorite volunteering activity is cleaning up parks with other CPAs at the annual CPA Day of Service.

James Small, Senior Accountant, Carrefour Associates, LLC

James Small

Jim Small, CPA, MBA, CGMA, is a Senior Accountant for Carrefour Associate, LLC a a hospice management company. His prior experience includes controller and VP-finance positions with a regional retailer, several regional oil and gas production and service companies. He worked in public accounting as an auditor for ten years with Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte) on engagements for both public and private clients. He received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Cameron University. He taught accounting courses at the University of Phoenix, has served in numerous positions in the Tulsa Chapter of OSCPA and has presented seminars on ethics, fraud and leadership for many professional organizations. He has served on the OSCPA Professional Ethics Committee for over fifteen years. He has a daughter and three wonderful grandchildren.
