Lisa McKinney

Lisa McKinney, CPA, practiced in public accounting for nine years in Birmingham and Memphis. She specialized in tax consulting and planning with extensive client experience in the real estate industry and partnership tax issues. Ms. McKinney joined The University of Alabama Culverhouse School of Accountancy as a full-time faculty member in 2001 and has taught undergraduate level courses in taxation and financial accounting for the last 21 years. Primary courses of instruction include Introduction to Financing Accounting, Individual Taxation, and Business Entity Taxation.

McKinney is director of The Culverhouse School of Accountancy LIFT community outreach and experiential learning program. This initiative utilizes University students to teach free computer, financial, and career classes to adults, veterans, seniors, and teens in under-served communities. The program utilized over 600 volunteers and leaders in the Fall 2022 semester, teaching over 35 classes each week throughout West and Central Alabama. During the pandemic, LIFT continued to provide classes virtually. Through the LIFT program, students work with food banks in west Birmingham and Selma to help them with volunteer management, inventory management systems, accounting, and warehouse organization.

McKinney also provides tax training for many small to mid-sized accounting firms in the Southeast, as well as nonprofit organizations. Over the past five years, McKinney and LIFT have partnered with The Central Alabama Redevelopment Alliance to build an accelerator to support underrepresented micro-businesses in Alabama. University students are utilized in this capacity to provide accounting and other business services to both for-profit and non-profit businesses.

Kurt Oestriecher

Kurt G. Oestriecher, CPA is a partner with Oestriecher & Company CPAs in Alexandria, La., and is the partner in charge of accounting and auditing. He is Past-President of the Louisiana Society of CPAs and has served on numerous LCPA and AICPA Committees. He has facilitated CPE courses since 1992 and has received the AICPA Outstanding Discussion Leader Award 12 years and the LCPA Outstanding Discussion Leader Award four times.

Kevin Cross

Kevin Cross, CPA frequently lectures on fraud and the only forensic sleuth who showcases the “Whodunnit?” game that turns the audience into suspects and an actual crime is solved. He has had the opportunity to speak at conferences for numerous CPA societies, AICPA, NAEA, IRS, universities, prisons, and non-profits.

He has been showcased by CNN, 700 Club, CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley, the Miami Herald, NPR, the New York Times, and multiple radio and internet programs.

He has written 2 two book on finance and a children’s comic book on how to manage money called “The Adventures of Moolah Man”

He runs a two professional boutique style CPA practice in Roswell and enjoys weighing in on the psychology of a good fraud.

Marc Hamilton

Marc Hamilton, CPA is a strategy-oriented finance executive with proven successes in change management. Mr. Hamilton has over 30 years of extensive practical experiences with data analytics, process design and technology implementation. His roles have provided broad exposure to functional, operational and management challenges facing organizations in the era of systems intelligence.

As a technologist CPA, Mr. Hamilton frequently speaks from his experiences on big data, data science, artificial intelligence and the developing Blockchain infrastructure. He also frequently presents AICPA cybersecurity content.

Mr. Hamilton holds a Masters in Tax Accounting from the University of Alabama and practiced with both Deloitte & KPMG before moving into a business and industry roles including VP of Taxation, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer.
