Jan Lewis, AICPAJan Lewis
Jan Lewis, is a Tax Partner with BMSS Advisors and CPAs in Ridgeland, MS. Her responsibilities include income and estate tax planning, research, and compliance for individual and business clients. Her areas of practice include healthcare, oil & gas, construction, real estate, and high net worth individuals. She has taught continuing education classes throughout Mississippi and nationwide to CPAs in the areas of income tax planning, business tax matters, and S tax matters, and has given presentations on financial literacy, tax reform, and other tax issues to various groups across the country. She has authored articles on tax matters for the Tax Adviser publication and has served as a webcast presenter for the AICPA’s Tax Division. She has been interviewed by Fox Business News, NPR, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Bankrate, and the Detroit Free Press for her insight on various policy and practice matters affecting taxpayers. She was selected as one of Forbes Top 200 CPAs in America in 2024. She is active in the Mississippi Society of CPAs, previously serving as President of the Society, a member of the MSCPA Board of Governors, an officer of the Society’s Central Chapter, and a trustee of the Mississippi Tax Institute. She currently is a member of the MSCPA’s Long Range Planning Committee and the MSCPA’s Young CPAs Liaison Committee. Lewis is a native of Jackson, MS, and a 1985 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Mississippi State University. She is a member and past chair of the Adkerson School of Accountancy Advisory Board at MSU and was selected as the MSU College of Business’s Alumni Fellow for 2016. She was chosen as MSU Beta Alpha Psi Alumnus of the Year in 2000.

- Navigating the World of NIL and Leadership for Today
Barry HinsonBarry Hinson
Barry Hinson is a veteran basketball coach and speaker with more than 42 years of experience in athletics and leadership. A native of Marlow and a 1983 graduate of Oklahoma State University, Hinson began his coaching career in 1981 as a volunteer coach before working at the junior high, AAU, and high school levels. In 1994, he entered the college ranks as an assistant coach under Bill Self at Oral Roberts University.
Hinson later served as head coach at Oral Roberts Golden Eagles men’s basketball, Missouri State Bears men’s basketball, and Southern Illinois Salukis men’s basketball, while also spending four seasons on Self’s staff at Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball. During his 30 years in college basketball, he served 18 seasons as a head coach and remains the fifth-winningest coach in the history of the Missouri Valley Conference. He currently serves as an associate athletic director at his alma mater, Oklahoma State.
Known to many as “Coach Hinson,” he has also been a sought-after speaker for more than 45 years. The son of a Southern Baptist minister, Hinson first gained recognition as a national finalist in the National FFA Organization speaking competition during high school. He is known for his quick wit, Southern humor, and straightforward approach to leadership and life.

Thomas Stephens, K2 EnterprisesThomas Stephens
Thomas G. (Tommy) Stephens Jr., CPA, CITP, CGMA, received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree (Major in Accounting) from Auburn University in 1985. In 1992, he earned a Master of Science degree (Major in Finance) from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Presently, Tommy is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Information Technology Professional, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. During his professional career, Tommy has gained valuable experience in a variety of positions, including: • Working as an auditor and technology consultant for an Atlanta-based public accounting firm; • Leading an Internal Audit staff and managing a Cost Accounting team for a Fortune 500 company; • Serving as a Chief Financial Officer for an international engineering organization; and • Founding and managing his public accounting firm that provides accounting, tax, and consulting services to individuals and a variety of small and emerging businesses. In 1995, Tommy began authoring and presenting continuing professional education courses to accounting and finance professionals. In 2003, he affiliated with K2 Enterprises, and in 2007, he joined the firm as a partner. Over the past twenty-seven years, Tommy has presented over 2,800 educational sessions to over 71,000 participants throughout the United States and Canada.Tommy maintains professional memberships with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, he is a past member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
