Senior Tax Associate

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax accounting and corporate accounting, with a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts and regulatory requirements. This role involves managing tax compliance, managing tax planning strategies, and providing guidance on various financial matters. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing client relationships, reviewing complex returns and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
  • Conduct tax research and stay up to date on federal and state tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide insights on financial services including investment strategies and asset management.
  • Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring quality and timely deliverables.
  • Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports while ensuring accuracy in double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage and other financial software for efficient data management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA License certification required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in individual, corporate and partnership tax.
  • Intermediate/advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Sage and QuickBooks.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate accounting practices including general ledger reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Preferred experience in Thomson Reuters UltraTax software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
